Fitting the hearing aid
Gold Standard Testing called Real Ear Measurement (or REM for short). Recommended by BSA, BAA & AIHHP
Bespoke Hearing Aid Fitting Service
In order to accurately measure the sound pressure level in a client’s ear, a silicon probe tube connected to a microphone outside of the ear is inserted. This verifies that the hearing aid is delivering the correct amplification for a client’s hearing loss.
This is our Gold Standard REM service.
Once you have chosen the best Hearing Aid for you, we will:
– Ensure your prescription is accurately matched
– Fit and test your new device
– Demonstrate how best to wear your hearing aid
– Explain the functions available
– Help with pairing devices to smart phones if appropriate
This is all done as part of a relaxed consultation at our clinic where all of your questions will be answered by our experts.
Ensuring the effectiveness of your new Hearing Aids
Once fitted, our Hearing Aid testing procedure is very thorough.
We measure the Hearing Aid’s performance in your ear by inserting a small, soft probe into your ear canal.
This gives us a precise measure of how effective they are in situ.
