Announcing…… the Tinearity G1 – offering moments of calm from Tinnitus.

Hot off the press! Game changing new product!

Announcing…… the Tinearity G1.

Don’t listen to what we say about this awesome new product though, here we have interviewed our client Caris Lount, a 22-year-old student from Loughborough.

Caris is one of those amazing young people who, despite being afflicted by tinnitus (from birth) has researched thoroughly to find the best possible help with her hearing health. Our relationship is the result of her tenacity. This is her story.

“Caris, what brought you to us?”

Well, I’ve had tinnitus all of my life, but it really flared up during lockdown in 2020. I became more in tune with my body since I had less things to distract myself. I realised the noise I was hearing was pretty loud because my perception was increasing.

I got desperate after lockdown and I was put on a waiting list for an NHS clinic – and had to wait weeks. I was then referred to an ENT appointment, which was exciting…until I was told there was a 2-year waiting list. So, as my mental health declined, as did my faith in obtaining any help, I decided to ‘go private’.

I paid the first Audiologist £250, only to be told, “There is nothing we can do for you.” This caused my anxiety to skyrocket. They offered me an MRI scan for an additional £600, stating it would only provide a 1.1% chance of being helpful. They then mentioned ‘rehab for my brain,’ which left me very confused. I later realized they were referring to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Their communication could have been much clearer.

When I started my journey through university, It just got louder. In fact, although I knew I had this issue, it didn’t really sink in until I was out clubbing with uni mates and would ask them after if they could hear ringing all the time too – They said “no we don’t hear any ringing!”. The nights out clubbing with the loud noise exposure really took its toll on my tinnitus and it was a negative spiral from there.

I started to feel alone and tinnitus made me question if I can really make the most out of university whilst living with the noise. All of the unsatisfactory experiences with health care professionals made me feel hopeless and that’s when I started sharing my experience on social media, only to find that there were a lot of people who also experience tinnitus and go through a similar unhelpful experience. After receiving over 14 million views and a huge amount of engagement I realised I needed to continue spreading awareness and finding he best ways of getting help to share with my follows.

I began searching through different products for tinnitus that I thought were worth sharing and actually helped me. This is when I was introduced to Steven hale by Duearity. The experience was totally different! Stevenage listened, asked, then listened again.  He moved me gently though the hearing tests, explaining both the process AND the findings at each step of the way.  Then we – yes “WE” – explored solutions.  It was at this point that Tinearity was proposed – I even left with one to try that day! I felt like a new person!

“So, tell us more about your Tinearity experience.”

Tinearity is a ground-breaking removable and rechargeable device that continually ‘pipes’ wonderful, gentle white noise into the brain using bone conduction technology. I urge you to read that again, as this is NOT a fixed or permanent bone anchored hearing device, but totally removeable – it’s self-adhesive! Although you may think its slick Swedish design looks big, once it’s in place, it could easily be seen as a behind the ear headset!  I think it’s really cool, and even though I have long hair, I like to wear it up to show my Tinearity off! I love being questioned about it! The white noise that is programmed into the set I would describe as being like gentle raindrops on a greenhouse roof! The volume is easily adjustable and my worries that the sound could be heard by other people was quickly put to one side – not even my boyfriend could hear it! This controlled sound works by ‘masking’ your tinnitus noise – it’s simple and brilliant! Also, it’s completely comfortable to wear in bed!”

“How would you summarise your Tinearity experience?”

“I am so thrilled that my research brought me to Steven Hale Hearing –and although I’m habituate from tinnitus, Tinearity is always there for me when I need it. My confidence, mental health, outlook and future are all now completely different, because I now have the tools to keep me comfortable with tinnitus.

“Sum the Tinearity up in one sentence”

“A weightless device offering moments of calm – no matter where you are.”
