Why are hearing aids so expensive?

It is often said that hearing aids are expensive, but the reality is that over the course of their lifespan the initial layout is quite relative.

Part of the expense of a hearing aid is due to the constant technological advancements being made in hearing aid design. Hearing aid companies worldwide are spending millions of pounds on R&D in a bid to continuously improve the hearing aids and their wearers hearing experience. There are new break throughs every year that bring about life changing experiences to those suffering with hearing loss.

It can be a false economy to seek out and purchase cheap hearing aids. They have a tendency to fail without warning and have a much lower life expectancy. They lack many of the advanced features that premium hearing aids offer and are not designed with the advanced noise filters and sudden noise protection of more expensive models.

It’s like the old adage buy cheap, buy twice. So, do beware before you go down this path.

Your hearing health is of the upmost importance and, if you experience hearing loss the last thigs you want is to be doing is spending all your time messing with poorly prescribed and badly fitted hearing aids.

There are a great many different styles and designs of hearing aids to choose from and so we would recommend that you talk to us to help you decide which hearing aid is right for you, your hearing loss, your lifestyle AND your budget.

Over the course of a 5 year lifespan your hearing aids could cost as little per day as £1 per day, no more than the cost of a daily newspaper and, if you choose Steven Hale as your audiology partner, you will be provided with a personal service package included in the cost, along with support and remote adjustment provision.
