Which hearing aids are rechargeable?

There is a wide range of rechargeable hearing aids now available, every manufacturer has embraced the need, which is now coming becoming the new normal!

Rechargeable hearing aids were introduced fairly recently and they have transformed the market, reducing the need for the small and fiddly disposable batteries associated with older hearing aid models.

Why would I choose rechargeable hearing aids?

  1. Reduce cost

You can easily spend up to £100 on disposable batteries every year, plus you have the hassle of remembering to buy them and the added costs associated with shipping or collection.

With rechargeable hearing aids the batteries within the hearing aids can be recharged as many times as needed. It is worth noting that some rechargeable batteries still have to be replaced regularly, others will last the life of the device.

  1. Reduces sudden dead battery worries

Once you get into a routine of recharging your batteries every 24 hours, for example at night at the same time as charging your phone, you are a lot less likely to experience a sudden dead battery the next day.

Disposable batteries don’t offer the same reassurance and can die at any time, and without warning.

  1. Rechargeable are better in cold weather

Cold weather has an adverse effect on zinc-air batteries causing them to drain quickly. Rechargeable Lithium-ion batteries however experience little to no loss in cold weather. This makes them all the more popular in countries with long winters.

  1. Environmentally friendly

Single use batteries are having a harmful effect on our environment, having to be thrown away after a single use. Lithium-ion batteries can be recharged thousands of times.

Note: We acknowledge that Lithium-ion batteries must be disposed of properly when you get rid of your hearing aids.

  1. Better for people struggling to handle small objects

Buying and replacing disposable batteries can be hard for anyone with dexterity problems. Difficulties with sourcing them and placing them in the battery compartment are commonplace.  With rechargeable batteries, there is no need to be troubled with buying new ones or fiddling to replace them.
